El Karama newspaper is permitted.

The High Council for press declared in a meeting, July 19, 2005 a permission to El Karama newspaper for El Karama Press Company.

The head of the company administrative council is Hamdeen Sabbahy, the representative of Al Karama party.

The licence of the newspaper came after a long conflict started in 1997 when Hamdeen Sabbahi obtained 5 judicial decisions to have the licence.

One of those five decisions was a historical one as the High Constitutional Court stated that the condition of the Ministerial Council agreement for establishing press companies is unconstitutional.

This decision opened the door for publishing newspapers. El Karama Newspaper supposed to be issued in two months period.

The newspaper aims to present a free political criticising and accurate information.
