Egypt: The Registration of Sawasya Center.
3/3/2005
The Administrative court for the State council issued a sentence to delete the decision of the minister of social affairs in Giza that rejected registering Sawasia Center for human rights and confronting torture.
The court stated that "The target beyond giving the ministry the right of supervision is to guarantee that it wouldn't commit any legal violations.
But as the court is so keen to make the administration of the social affairs ministry practices its role within the frame of constitutional legal legitimacy, and also keen not make this supervision a curtain to hide the violations of individual constitutional and legal rights, and because the administration did not introduce the documents that proves the weakness of the registration of the center, This makes it worthy to stop prosecuting the decision of the minister of social affairs for its violating the law and wasting one of the constitutional rights, which is the right to form an association and peaceful gathering.
