A Call for Aid from Asyout University

The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information has received the following message from Asyout University students on 29/04/04
Liberties denial go on in Asyout University
Dear Sir at The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information
Greetings
Seeking your aid, we are 23 students at Asyout University, have been transferred to tribunals, one of us has been laid off for a year, and another one for two years, the rest of us are next. The transformation and the laying off come upon a decision issued by the university president.
We are charged with staging walks in solidarity with the Palestine and Iraq. We hope for your urgent intervention, also would like you to send our complaint to all the human rights organizations.
Please take into consideration that the tribunals on the Legal Affairs Department at Asyout University are dated on 3rd, 5th, and 8th of May 2004.

HRINFO calls upon all the human rights organizations in Egypt to help the students who face the arbitrary administration, and whose rights are violated as a punishment for practicing their right to peaceful gathering and Freedom of Expression.
