On Wednesday February 27, 2008, riot police attacked a religious parade of the Shiite sect as they fired tear-gas grenades and used thunder flashes which caused many injuries among participants.

Head of journalists syndicate died from injuries sustained after an assassination attempt
On February 27, 2008, head of syndicate of journalists Shehab Al-Tamimy died in Ibn Al-Beitar Hospital located in the heart of Baghdad, after being severely injured in an assassination attempt. This came after an attack that targeted him the moment he finished a meeting at the cultural center located nearby the Turkish embassy in Baghdad.

After more than one year of imprisonment on the charge of insulting the Egyptian president, Kareem Amer's story about the Muslim religious scholars who called Mubarak "the Prince of Believers" was proven. The Arabic Network defended Kareem Amer and submitted documents of his innocence which were ignored by both the prosecution and the court.

The deteriorated health conditions of Mohammed Abdul-Raheem Al-Sharkawy and the disappearance of his son "Abdul-Rahman", confirm the false calls for political reforms in Egypt
Hisham Mubarak Law Center submitted two notices to the General Prosecutor against Egyptian Ministry of Interior, because of the deterioration of health conditions of the detainee Mohammed Abdul-Raheem Al-Sharkawy. The prison officers prevented him from having his medical treatment and refused his transfer to Al-Manial University-Hospital. The other notice is related to the disappearance of his son "Abdul-Rahman" over one month ago. They called for the General Prosecution to use their authority in this regard according to the law.

The Document of Organizing Space transmission is invalid through its form and content
Human rights organizations and institutions expressed their decisive rejection of the document concerning organizing radio & space transmission that was announced by Arab Ministries of Information on February 12, 2008. These organizations confirmed that the proposed document is full of vague articles that actually represent a new restriction on freedom of expression in the Arab space channels and affirm its legal invalidity without the consent of Arab parliaments.
